    Our Client is a global consultancy firm with professionals located in more than 40 countries, who provide their clients with legal and business solutions locally, regionally and internationally using integrated teams of professionals with experience that spans a broad range of disciplines Working with the Italian Managing Partners and local Location Heads, create a business plan and subsequent marketing plan for the Italian offices Managing the locations' marketing & communication budgets. Manage a marketing and communication team and the locations' access to the central marketing functions - web, events, pitching, research, CRM, database and PR. Oversee PR and communications activities for the region, ensuring and tracking results both direct and from the PR agency (working closely with the central communications team and the Marketing Managers for each Practice Group). Define (with various stakeholders) the current and emerging market and technical issues on which the Firm can comment, platforms with the right profile/delegates and run a major programme of media spokespeople/activities on this basis Further define, package and communicate the specialist services the Firm can offer across Practice Groups in the location - both to internal and external target audiences. Deliver substantially improved awareness and profile for the Firm with clients, targets and stakeholders through the management of a cohesive events programme Improve the approach to clients and targets and the take-up of Firm-wide Communication and Business Development activity such as support for key clients and client listening programmes Make recommendations on improving the Firm's overall position to create distinct profile and messages, fully aligned to the brand. Support Industry Sector development needs in the Italian offices. Manage the delivery of the Firm's International marketing programmes Lead the business development activity of the Italian offices including supporting client targeting and development and driving research and pitch activity. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work on his/her own initiative as well as being part of a team. Knowledge of Marketing/Communication/BD Processes - a sound understanding of new business processes, sales techniques and coaching. He/she must: have a professional approach, which is demonstrated by high levels of customer service, a determination to get the job done and the ability to convey their message successfully, score highly in terms of commitment and internal client care; possess a high level of written and oral communication skills. In addition he/she will be expected to have strong probing, consultative listening skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and persuade senior legal and client personnel; be able to demonstrate the necessary interpersonal skills to manage delivery through others, including lawyers of all levels and their teams, firmwide Marketing & Communication colleagues and external suppliers; have well developed project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting timescales and priorities; be able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels; have the ability to multi-task and work to deadline, as well as thrive in a fast-paced environment; have previous experience managing a team/direct reports; support the team in the delivery of any time critical projects; have a first class inquisitive mind and strong consultative selling skills; have the ability to persuade senior management and lawyers; be able to display a consistently positive attitude and adopt a "can do" approach; be IT literate and experience using InterAction, Word 2003 and Outlook would be beneficial; be fluent in English; be educated to degree standard and ideally possess a marketing qualification.
